James E. Felts, 88, died Thursday, November 3, 2016 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Fort Wayne at St. Joseph Hospital on February 16.1928 to Edward J. and Margaret Felts nee Wilkinson. Jim graduated from Saint Meinrad College and the School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. He retired in 1993 as Vice President of Summit Bank after 40 years of service. Jim was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Epiphany Cathedral in Venice, FL. He served as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and on the finance council. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Father Salerno Casey Society and the Kadiddlehoppers. Jim was the past president and district governor of the Serra Club and a community volunteer for many organizations including Saint Joseph Hospital, Matthew 25, Fort Wayne Air Museum, and Embassadors. He is survived by his wife and best friend for 64 years, Mary McCarthy Felts; his children, Margaret (Brian) Foust of Indianapolis, IN; Thomas (Kay) Felts of Fort Wayne; Patrick (Ellen) Felts of Austin TX; and Maureen (Matt) Leugers of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
