George Robert Mountain, “The Bug Man”, of Zionsville formerly Mooresville, IN passed away August 27, 2018. He was 91.  George was born on December 09, 1926 in Indianapolis to Charles Roy and Bernadine (Merl) Mountain.  George graduated from St. Meinrad High School and attended IU in Bloomington IN. George was an exterminator who owned and operated Mooresville Pest Control alongside his wife Pat for 45 years, retiring in 2008 after his wife passed away from pancreatic cancer. George was affectionately known as “The Bug Man” throughout Morgan County, and was considered an expert in his field and was nationally recognized for his innovative Mountain Ground Rod used in treating termites.

He was a former long-standing member of St Thomas Moore Catholic Church, Mooresville Chamber of Commerce, Mooresville Masonic Lodge #78, and Mooresville Lions Club serving as Master of Ceremonies for the Mooresville Old Settlers Festival. He currently attended St Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church in Zionsville and resided at the Hearth at Tudor Gardens, where he was beloved by many of the residents and was known for his many acts of generosity, his teasing and fun-loving antics, donning crazy bright socks and his recitations of many whimsical songs and poems of which his favorite was the “Passing of the bathhouse.” He enjoyed rocking on the front porch while visiting with his friends, cheering on his grandson playing sports and visiting and playing scrabble with his daughter.

George was preceded in death by his lovely wife in 2008 Pat (Price) Mountain and his siblings; Sister Merl Marie Mountain, Joan Mountain and Thomas Mountain and a first cousin Fr. Conrad Louis and a nephew Matthew Mountain.
