Fr. Vincent Dentinger

Father had served the Archdiocese of Louisville since his ordination into the priesthood on May 8, 1954. His assignments included: 1954, Teacher at Flaget and assistant pastor at St. Patrick's; 1955, Chaplain for the Xaverian Brothers; 1957, Chaplain at Ormsby Village; 1967, Teaching again at Flaget, chaplain for the Xaverians, and assistant pastor at St. Augustine, Louisville; 1968, Veterans' Hospital chaplain and associate pastor in residence at St. Leonard; 1977, Pastor at St. Sylvester, Ottenheim and Junction City and Stanford Missions; 1988, Pastor, St. Charles at St. Mary, Ky.; 1994, Administrator at St. Joseph, Raywick, Ky.; 1996, Administrator at St. Francis Xavier, Raywick, and retired in 1998.He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent P. and Anna Mae Kramer Dentinger, and a brother, Donald A. Dentinger.Survivors include one sister, Anna Mae "Susie" Barrett; six brothers, Robert L. (Jean), Rev. Roy E., Richard A. (Puff), Gerald B. (Jane), James L. (Cindy), and John P. Dentinger (Delene); 26 nieces and nephews; 49 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 5 great-great-nieces and nephews.Father's family would like to express their gratitude to the staff and caregivers at Sacred Heart Village for the wonderful care given to him during his time there.Expressions of sympathy may be directed as Masses for the deceased, or to the donors' favorite charity.
