George T. "Tom" Popp, 76, died at the Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, IN. George was a graduate of the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School, a civil engineer and professor emeritus at the Purdue University program at I.U. Southeast in New Albany. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and a 45-year member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Jeffersonville, IN. George was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes Taylor Popp and Herman J. Popp Sr.; and a brother, Herman J. Popp Jr. Survivors include his wife: the former Barbara Colvin Popp; sons: Thomas Popp (Liliana), Jeffersonville, Lawrence Popp (Eliana), China and Gregory Popp (Sara), Florida; daughters, Theresa Popp (Frank), Louisville, KY and Catherine Popp , Louisville; grandchildren, Stan, Anne, Christine, Stephen, Stephanie, Stacey, Anna and Taylor; and aunt, Stella Taylor Conner.Expressions of sympathy may be made to Providence Retirement Home or Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
