Jerome E. "Jerry" Forestal, 76, banker and politician, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of Joseph and Anne (Sullivan) Forestal. Jerry was a banker for many years with both AFNB and Merchants Bank. He retired from the Center Township Trustee Office, a position that his mother Anne Forestal was elected to during the 1950s. Jerry was a former City Councilman and Marion County Auditor. He served in Germany with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, Democratic Committeeman for 50 years, Knights of Columbus, National Alliance of Businessman and Ancient Order of the Hibernians. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Lillian K. (White) Forestal, children: Kerry (Kathryn) Forestal, Michael Forestal, Marianne Greve and Julie (Donald) Lynch, sisters: JoAnne Kraniak and Jane Zahn, grandchildren, Adam, Erik (Joni) Brittany Forestal, Courtney and Megan Forestal, Daniel and Kyle Forestal, Alison, Trevor and Jillian Lynch, great-grandson, Harrison Forestal and by many many loving nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Helen, Robert, Marge, Jack, Joseph and Dick. Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Meinrad.
