James "Jim" Tighe

Jim Tighe, 70, of Galion, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012, in Galion after a one year battle with cancer. He was born March 10, 1942 in Muncie, Indiana to Marguerite Tighe, a courageous, caring single mother. He moved to Ohio in 1964 and held many different jobs: teacher, social worker, parts counter man, museum docent and, finally, lawn care laborer in a small town. He was a great train enthusiast, music lover and car collector. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; daughters, Jennifer (Paul) Orchard of Muncie, IN, Maggie Orchard of Wadsworth, OH, Elisa Marshall of CA, Maria (Steve) Gangl of Centerville, OH; encompassing sixteen grandchildren including Amory, Maren, Cade, Isaiah, Hannah and Sarah Orchard, Craig, Shauna and Cameron We are, Crystal (Bruce) Hall, and three great grandchildren, including Nathan and Sophia Weare, Kayla Hall; and numerous very good friends and impossible-but-lovable old cat, Sybil. He was preceded in death by his mother, his wife Tina Tighe, his son in law Nathan Orchard and many other relatives and friends. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, generous donations may be made in Jim's memory to your local food bank. Jim leaves behind a lot of wonderful people and he wishes them joy and peace.Published in Dayton Daily News from May 1 to May 2, 2012
