Over the years, St. Bede Hall on the Saint Meinrad campus has seen a variety of uses. However, in more recent years, much of the space has been waiting for a new use.

Renovating the nearly 60-year-old building will encompass improvements to infrastructure, the addition of technological capabilities, the upgrading of access to five floors, and the reworking of space for flexibility and better use.

Infrastructure

• Replaced roof; addition of flashing, gutters and downspouts
• Energy-efficient windows and a new heating and cooling system with individual controls
• Modernized elevator extending to the fifth floor.
• Classroom technology (for videotaping, projection, Internet access and television reception)
• Guest rooms will have wireless capability

New Configuration

• First floor: (Houses 500-seat St. Bede Theater; current layout will remain mostly unchanged)
  --Offices and a reception area for the Office of Group Accommodations
  --In the theater, addition of a platform in front of the stage for less formal presentations
• Second Floor: A chapel that seats 50-60 people (available for use by groups or as a practice chapel for students)
  --Office space for the Institute for Priests and Presbyterates and other programs
• Third Floor: IPP life skills center (St. John Vianney Center), multipurpose lounge, two conference rooms, and 15 guest rooms with private baths
• Fourth Floor: 22 guest rooms and a lounge area
• Fifth floor: Large flexible meeting room that can be divided into two smaller rooms
