Saint Meinrad Archabbey's newest venture began in 1999 with the establishment of Abbey Caskets. The project developed as a result of requests by friends and alumni of Saint Meinrad wishing to obtain shaped wooden caskets such as those used for monks' funerals.

Abbey Caskets offers handmade wooden caskets in cherry, poplar, oak and walnut. Designs include one modeled after the monastic casket and a more contemporary rectangular model. Cremation urns are also available.

Proceeds from Abbey Caskets support the work of Saint Meinrad Archabbey.
