Sister Shawnee Marie Daniels-Sykes, SSND, will deliver the annual Black History Lecture at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, St. Meinrad, IN, on Thursday, February 11, at 7 p.m. CST in the Newman Conference Center.Sr. Daniels-Sykes is an assistant professor of theology at Mount Mary College, Columbia College of Nursing, and Mount Mary College’s Midtown Campus, in Milwaukee, WI. She also is an adjunct assistant professor of theology at the Institute for Black Catholic Studies, Xavier University of Louisiana.Her presentation is titled “Bioethics and the Black Health Crisis.” She earned a bachelor of science degree in biology and biochemistry from Spelman College, followed by a BS in nursing from the University of Wisconsin. She also holds a master’s degree in pastoral studies/theology from St. Francis Seminary and earned a doctorate in religious studies from Marquette University.The lecture is free and open to the public.
