Interlibrary Loan
Through Interlibrary Loan, Archabbey Library patrons are able to borrow books and articles from other libraries. In most cases, books can be borrowed from another library for one month. Books can take up to two weeks from the time of request to arrive. There are rarely any charges for an Interlibrary Loan. However, if a lending library requests payment, the patron has the option of refusing or paying for the loan.
Renewals are sometimes possible and should be requested at least one week before the book is due. Articles are usually copied from journals and sent or faxed to Archabbey Library. Interlibrary Loan services are limited to patrons with current borrowing privileges.
To request a book through Interlibrary Loan, please submit in writing or by e-mail the title, author and publisher. Any other information, such as the year and place of publication, can be helpful. Please be sure to include your name, address, phone and e-mail.
For journal articles, in addition to the article title and author, submit the journal title, volume and issue number, and page numbers.
Interlibrary Loan request forms can be found in the Archabbey Library next to the New Book Shelf, or requests can be submitted by e-mail to ill@saintmeinrad.edu.
