Monastic Observance Program

You're likely to have lots of questions about what monks do, how they live and work, what they do for fun and how prayer shapes the rhythm of their days.

If you're curious about whether this lifestyle might be right for you, come and visit us. Roman Catholic men who are single and interested in learning more about living the Benedictine commitment to prayer and work can experience the community life during a scheduled Come & See visit. For information, contact the Office of Monastic Vocations.

During your visit, you will have an opportunity to live in the monastery, learning about day-to-day life and praying alongside the monks. You'll discover firsthand about Saint Meinrad's work and its long tradition of service to the Catholic Church.

The following Come and See dates are scheduled:

August 1-5, 2008
December 27, 2008 - January 1, 2009
August 1-5, 2009
December 27, 2009 - January 1, 2010
