New treasurer/business manager named

Matthew Eckert has been named the new
treasurer and business manager at Saint Meinrad Archabbey, St.
Meinrad, IN, effective August 31.
Eckert succeeds Fr. Adrian Burke, OSB, who held the position for
the past two years.
As treasurer and business manager, Eckert will be responsible
for the financial and business affairs of Saint Meinrad, as well as
overseeing human resources and physical facilities.
Eckert has been general manager of Holiday World and Splashin’
Safari in Santa Claus, IN, since August 2007. Before that, he
served as the company’s controller for seven years.
He also was a senior auditor for Arthur Anderson LLP of
Indianapolis.
Eckert is a graduate of Indiana State University with a
bachelor’s degree in accounting and insurance. He is a certified
public accountant.
His professional memberships include the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants, Indiana CPA Society, Indiana State
University Accounting Advisory Board, and the Society of Human
Resources Management. He is an International Association of
Amusement Parks & Attractions Certified Attractions Executive
and has served on its Human Resources Committee.
Eckert and his wife Tonya live in Schnellville, IN, with their
three children, Abigail, Claire and Drew.
Saint Meinrad Archabbey, founded in 1854, is a Benedictine
monastery that also operates the Seminary and School of Theology,
Abbey Press and Abbey Caskets.
