Archabbey Library to host exhibit of holy cards
The Archabbey Library Gallery, St. Meinrad, IN, is presenting an exhibit of holy cards from the library’s collection, titled “Holy Cards: Popular Devotional Keepsakes in Roman Catholic Culture, 1860-1920.”
Holy cards exhibited represent a range of popular devotions, including the Sacred Heart, Jesus, the Blessed Sacrament, Our Lady, the Holy Family, saints and angels. The exhibit will run from October 19 until February 28, 2010.
Library hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m.-noon, 1-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.; Friday, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m.; Saturday, 9-11 a.m., 1-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m.
There are some exceptions to regular hours. On November 21-28 and from December 15-30, the library has no evening hours. On November 21, December 8 and January 21, the library is closed in the morning. The library is closed October 31, November 26-27, December 24-27, and December 31-January 3. In January, the library is closed in the evenings, except from 7-9 p.m. Monday to Thursday.
The exhibit is free and open to the public. All times are Central time. Those wishing to view the exhibit may want to arrive at least 30 minutes before closing time.
