Greetings to you from Saint Meinrad!

On behalf of all the monks and staff at Saint Meinrad, we welcome you to the “One Bread, One Cup” website. Along with a 150-year tradition of preparing priests for the Church and, more recently, lay ministers and permanent deacons, Saint Meinrad has a strong commitment to supporting and encouraging the young Catholic Church and its adult leadership.

With generous assistance from the Lilly Endowment and many others, Saint Meinrad is pleased to take our part in youth ministry, especially by offering each participant in our summer conferences an encounter with Christian community. Our work with “One Bread, One Cup” will be a welcome opportunity for us to join you as we encounter Word, Sacrament and Mission through our summer conferences.

As stated in Renewing the Vision, the 1997 document of the Catholic bishops of the United States, a goal before us is “to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.” We hope to bring that goal to life through programs of catechesis, spiritual formation, liturgical leadership development and vocational discernment within “One Bread, One Cup.”
