Msgr. Frederick C. Easton, JCL, is a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, where he served as the Metropolitan Tribunal's vicar judicial from 1983 until his retirement in 2011.

In 1994, Msgr. Easton was elected to national office as secretary for the Canon Law Society of America. He was later elected as vice president and then president of the society. In May 2002, he was appointed chairperson of the Special Task Force on the Canonical Response to Sexual Abuse Cases, with a later re-appointment as chairperson of the Special Task Force to prepare the "Guide to the Implementation of the U.S. Bishops' Essential Norms for Diocesan/Eparchial Policies Dealing with Allegations of Sexual Abuse of Minors by Priests or Deacons."

In July of 2003, Msgr. Easton was re-appointed chairperson of the successor committee of the Special Task Force, now called the Committee On The Canonical Aspects Of Questions Regarding The Sexual Abuse Of Minors.

In recognition of his work through this difficult time, and in recognition of his leadership in the field of canon law, the Canon Law Society of America conferred upon Msgr. Easton its highest honor, The Role of Law, in October of 2003.
