Community and Diversity

In a context of increasing globalism, fostering the ability to empathize, understand and communicate with people of diverse cultural backgrounds without prejudice is a critical aspect of human formation.

At Saint Meinrad, seminarians live in community with a diverse population of students from around the world. Sharing every aspect of daily life with people whose cultural traditions, opinions, preferences and practices differ can be challenging, but graduates value the opportunity to see their own cultures from other perspectives.

A welcoming, open community provides an ideal environment for learning the important skills of respecting and appreciating cultural differences.
