Saint Meinrad Archabbey offers several opportunities for young men up to age 40 to visit the monastery and discern a possible monastic vocation.
Establishing a Relationship: Men interested discerning a religious or monastic vocation are invited to contact the vocation director to ask questions and begin building a relationship with the monastery. Our vocation director can be contacted by telephone (812-357-6318) or by email (email@example.com). This website (www.saintmeinrad.org) also provides a wide range of helpful information about the life and work of the monks of Saint Meinrad.
Individual Visits: Once an initial relationship has been established, an individual may wish to visit the monastery to learn more about the abbey. Vocation guests typically stay in the monastery Guest House during their first visit to campus with the possibility of staying in the monastery guest quarters upon subsequent visits. After speaking with the monastery Director of Vocations, please use this form to register for an overnight visit.
A Monastic Observance: Twice a year, Saint Meinrad Archabbey offers a five-day live-in experience for men who are interested in learning more about the monastic way of life. Participants stay in the monastery guest house, eat and pray with the monastic community, participate in morning work periods and sit in on afternoon conferences by monks on different aspects of the monastic life.
This program is free of charge and is offered December 27 to January 1 each year, and for a week in the early summer. Summer dates vary from year to year; see our website for exact dates. Learn more about the program.
