Effective Pastoring Workshops
The Institute for Priests and Presbyterate's "Effective
Pastoring Workshops" engage the ongoing formation needs of priests
in the first years of their ministry.
The Associate Pastor workshop helps newly ordained priests make a seamless transition into parish ministry, addressing the practical tasks and challenges, spiritual concerns, identity and accountability issues inherent within this transition. Personal finance strategies and skills are also covered.
Gearing Up to be a Pastor workshop, typically
undertaken during the second year following ordination, starts the
preparation for becoming a pastor, addressing the "big
picture" issues: pastoral identity, authority, administration,
spiritual leadership and self-care.
The Newly Appointed Pastor workshop addresses universal administrative issues facing first-time pastors: canonical, legal and personnel issues; parish administration; finances and budgeting.
