Admission Requirements

Sponsorship from a diocese or religious community is required for admission to the priesthood formation program at Saint Meinrad School of Theology. An Application Booklet is available from the Director of Enrollment.

Requirements
Applicants for any degree from Saint Meinrad must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants are expected to have maintained a college academic GPA of 2.5 or higher. Applicants must possess the interests, aptitudes and personal objectives that correspond with the program's goals to be admitted.

In addition to the application form, applicants must submit an official transcript from every college or university they have attended.

Registration
Pre-registration for all sessions is conducted during the times listed on the official calendar. No registrations are accepted after the deadline dates specified.

Faculty Advisors
All students are required to have a faculty advisor. New full-time students are assigned an advisor who will counsel them in planning their course of study, assist them in adjusting to the School of Theology and help them prepare their annual self-evaluation.

Transfer of Credits
Credits earned at other accredited theological seminaries or graduate schools of theology may be applied toward a Saint Meinrad School of Theology degree if the following conditions are met:

  1. The student earned a grade of "B-" or above; and
  2. The course is comparable to one taught at Saint Meinrad School of Theology.

As a general rule, transfer credits may not exceed one-fourth of the required credits for any degree.
