Why Saint Meinrad

Special Opportunities for Learning

Early Christian World Study Abroad Program
In partnership with St. John's University in Collegeville, MN, this program comprises the spring semester and integrates classroom work with tours of historical, archeological, liturgical and artistic significance in Italy, Turkey and Greece.

Master of Arts Degree at Vanderbilt University
Through a cooperative program with the Divinity School of Vanderbilt University, MDiv students may pursue an MA degree in homiletics or pastoral care and counseling.

TEAM-A: Ecumenical Experience
To promote a better understanding among Christians, MDiv students have the option of taking courses at one of the four Protestant seminaries that join with Saint Meinrad to form the Theological Education Association of Mid-America (TEAM-A). A complete listing of courses can be found at the TEAM-A Web site: http://www.eteama.org.

Christian Art and Architecture: Study Tour of Rome
Every two years, the School of Theology sponsors a three-week trip to Europe during the January Interterm. A two-week stay in Rome includes several tours and an exposure to ancient Roman and early Christian culture.

Endowed Lectures
The Thomas Lecture is an annual address exploring issues in philosophy and theology.

The Dolle Lecture helps students grasp the expression of Christianity through Church art and architecture.

The John S. and Virginia Marten Lecture in Homiletics brings notable homileticians to campus. A homiletics workshop is held the day following the presentation.
