October is always a busy month on the Hill. The school semester
has hit a mid-point, but several activities give students a break
from the books and a little time for fellowship.
The Around the World party was held at the beginning of the
month, where students get a chance to share food, dance and stories
from their culture or region. The seminary soccer tournament was
held toward the end of the month and presented the opportunity to
meet seminarians from three other seminaries.
Other pictures from the School came from Mass, a CACD wood chop
for Project Warm and from the Institute for Priests and
Presbyterates' Gearing up to be a Pastor program.
The monastery vocations department teamed up with Monastery
Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand for the Benedictine Hills
Pilgrimage. Participants walked from Saint Meinrad to the monastery
in Ferdinand, stopping at Monte Cassino Shrine on the way.
The vocation department also started sponsoring a monastic
coffee break every other week in the Alumni Commons. The coffee
break aims to transport a piece of the monastic community life over
to the School, where many of the monks serve.
Pictures this month were taken by Novice Charles Peñalosa ,
seminarian Minh Vu and myself.
