Time: 6:30 p.m. CDT
Location: The Gallery, located on the first floor of St. Gregory Hall on the Saint Meinrad campus.
The
Institute for Priests and Presbyterates of Saint Meinrad Seminary
and School of Theology, St. Meinrad, IN, will present a free
lecture on Monday, October 22, to open the annual “Gearing up to be
a Pastor” workshop.
The lecture by Fr. John Judie, a priest of the Archdiocese of
Louisville, is titled “Pastoring in the Parish: Where Grace
Abounds!”
Based on his 25 years of experience as a parish priest, Fr.
Judie will offer insights into the joys and opportunities of being
a pastoral leader in the parish setting. He will share practical,
pastoral and caring ways in which a pastor and his parishioners can
be a blessing to one another. Through the development of such
relationships, everyone can discover the power of grace at work in
their midst.
The presentation begins at 6:30 p.m. CDT in the Gallery, located
on the first floor of St. Gregory Hall on the Saint Meinrad
campus.
Fr. Judie graduated from St. Mary’s Seminary and University in
Baltimore, MD. He has served in the Archdiocese of Louisville’s
Office of Ecumenical Affairs and Office of African American
Catholic Ministries. Following a six-month sabbatical in East
Africa, he established Fr. John Judie Ministries Inc., a non-profit
organization that assists people in East Africa, including a
seminarian sponsorship program. He is currently the pastor of
Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Louisville and serves
on the Archdiocese of Louisville’s Priests’ Council.
There is no cost for the lecture. Parking is available in the
Guest House parking lot and the student parking lot on the south
side of campus. Saint Meinrad operates on Central time.
