Formation and Education for the Life of the Church

Month In Pictures: February 2017

by Krista Hall

Spring semester in the Seminary and School of Theology is in full swing. There were several events in the school in February. Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv. of the Diocese of Lexington celebrated the semester opening Mass, Dr. Cecilia Moore presented the annual Black History Lecture and, for the fifth year in a row, the international seminarians had an outing at the Carmelite Monastery in Terre Haute.

In the monastery, Archabbot Kurt Stasiak, OSB, blessed the infirmary plaque on February 2 and Fr. Gavin Barnes, OSB, died February 6. Also, bell six was removed from the bell tower on February 8 to have a crack repaired.

February is often a slower, quieter month at Saint Meinrad. Students return from Christmas break and are getting back into the daily routine and it's cold and gray outside. Even as winter sets in on the Hill, there is always plenty to photograph.

I hope you enjoy February's month in pictures. Mary Jeanne Schumacher and Krista Hall and seminarians Minh Vu and Deacon Jerry Pratt took the pictures in this month's post.
