Program Outcomes

Students who successfully complete the 18-credit specialization certificate in Ethics and Moral Theology will:

  1. Establish broad foundation of knowledge concerning ethics and morality;

  2. Apply ethical and moral principles to contemporary life issues.

Requirements

  • Ethics and Natural Law (3 credits).  We recommend completion of this philosophy requirement prior to other courses.

  • Christian Anthropology or Theology of the Body (3 credits)

  • Fundamental Moral Theology or Christian Ethics (3 credits)

  • 9 additional credits selected from the Moral Theology category (courses starting 15:xxx). Elective courses might include Catholic Social Ethics, Catholic Sexual and Medical Ethics, Directed Research Project, or other courses approved by the Director of Graduate Theology Programs.
