Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library invites applications or nominations for the position of Associate Library Director and Director of Digital Resources.  

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The person sought for this position will participate in a wide range of library management functions including user outreach, reference, and collection management. As the Director of Digital Resources, the person filling this position concentrates on managing all aspects of digital library services, including selection and acquisition of content, access, and evaluation of emerging technologies. 

Archabbey Library has a staff of four and is a member of the Private Academic Library Network of Indiana (PALNI), a highly innovative and collaborative library consortium.  The Associate Director will work closely with PALNI in developing and managing Archabbey Library resources and services. Archabbey Library supports the bibliographic needs of Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology as well as Saint Meinrad monastery.

Experience & Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • MLS from accredited library school
  • Ability to articulate a vision for digital services
  • Ability to assist with technical services, library systems, and collection management
  • Experience working with digital resources and online library systems
  • Ability to work as problem solver both independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of computer programs, including MS Excel
  • Understanding of Catholic tradition and commitment to Catholic seminary formation


  • Undergraduate concentration in, or graduate study of, theology or a related discipline
