We prepare women and men, young and old, deacons and lay people for ministry and spiritual growth. God calls all baptized Christians, whether lay or ordained, to cultivate holiness, live simply, serve others, and spread the Gospel. Saint Meinrad has traditionally prepared men for Catholic priesthood; however, our Graduate Theology degree and certificate programs are designed for deacons and laity who wish to pursue the study of theology.
Earning a master's for ministry begins with core courses in Scripture, systematic theology, and Church history, providing a survey of different areas and a focus on key texts, people, and events. Students can then shape their curriculum while taking more responsibility for their learning.
Many of our students pursue their master's for ministry part-time and live several hours away from campus. Realizing that you have other responsibilities - family, full-time work, parish, community involvement, etc. - we provide a variety of course formats that fit your busy life.
