Deacons may be called to sing various parts of the liturgy based on the principles of progressive solemnity. This workshop will survey those occasions specified in the General Instruction of the Roman Missal and the USCCB document Sing to the Lord. Participants will learn basic techniques of healthy singing and rehearse common recitation formulas such as lection tones and Mass dialogues. Emphasis will be on pitch, simple intervals, vocal control, and projection. Join us and learn how to call the people to prayer and proclaim the Word of God more effectively.
The workshop will begin at 11:00am (Central Time) on August 6 and end at 4pm on August 7.
