Biography

Archabbot Kurt Stasiak, OSB, a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, professed vows as a Benedictine monk in 1975. 

He was ordained to the priesthood in 1980 and has been a member of the School of Theology faculty since 1986.

He previously served as provost-vice rector of the School of Theology, vocation director for Saint Meinrad Archabbey, chair of the Archabbey Church Renovation Committee and assistant novice-junior master at Saint Meinrad Archabbey. He also served as director of spiritual formation for the Seminary and School of Theology.

Archabbot Kurt is the author of several books including Sacramental Theology: Means of Grace, Ways of Life (Loyola, 2002); A Confessor's Handbook (Paulist, 1999); Return to Grace: a theology for infant baptism (Liturgical Press-A Pueblo Book, 1996); and From Sinners to Saints: a guide to understanding the sacrament of reconciliation (Paulist, 2004).

He has published numerous articles and book reviews appearing in a variety of publications.

He was elected the archabbot of Saint Meinrad Archabbey on June 2, 2016.
