10:410 The Creed in History and Theology

This course is a study of the creedal nature of the Christian faith. The course is divided into two major sections, the first of which is a theological analysis of the concept of tradition, and looks at issues such as the relationship between scripture and tradition and the development of doctrine. The second half of the course is a commentary on the various articles of the Apostles' Creed. The first half of the course will help to conceptualize the place of creeds in the Church, and the second half will explore the major theological positions therein.
