Take graduate theology classes in the Benedictine tradition while remaining engaged in your local community.

The Saint Meinrad Graduate Theology Program offers a Master of Arts in Theology that can be completed entirely online. The program serves lay ministers, catechists, educators, and anyone who wants the intellectual depth and spiritual grounding of a Saint Meinrad education in a format that fits their busy schedules.

Our master’s degree begins with core courses in Scripture, systematic theology, Church history, and moral or liturgical theology, providing a broad survey of theology. Successful completion of the Master of Arts (Theology) degree requirements will enable you to

  • identify and explain the central elements of Catholic teaching and practice;
  • understand and articulate the broad development and diversity of the Church's living tradition;
  • read and interpret texts of the Catholic tradition faithfully and critically;
  • and engage and analyze issues of contemporary thought and life in light of the Catholic theological tradition.
