Ministry Moments | October 2025 Updates from Our Partner Parishes

"We are blessed with an ever-growing parish, which includes lots of young adults in our pews. There is real movement toward creating a space for those that speak English (we already have a thriving Spanish-speaking group) – this would be our largest young adult demographic. Providing a space to connect and grow in faith is vitally important to the strength and impact of our parish now and in the future. Just a couple of young adults coming forward asking for ways to connect within our parish is HUGE. We are embracing this opportunity and Holy-Spirit-filled moment to take action. In October, we are planning an 'Open House,' inviting all the young adults to come learn about how we can serve them and how they can get involved."

"We had six young adults from the parish attend the recent Young Adult Retreat at Saint Meinrad in September."

"We have gotten about 10 people signed up for OCIA for this coming January, with the majority of them being young adults! Praise God! We also spent time doing Night Prayer and bowling this past month to connect, pray, and play! God has been so good to us at St. John the Evangelist this season, and we are seeing a rapid growth and desire for the Sacraments. Young adults are lining up weekly for the Sacrament of Confession and gathering daily at the perpetual Adoration Chapel. Lastly, we have several young adults signed up for Phil's Friends (a cancer patient care package service day) and are ready to serve!"

"We re-started our NFL Sunday watch parties when the season began and we have had a great turnout, especially from our young adult demographic. Additionally, we have had a couple of young adults call the office to find out about what other opportunities we offer because they had so much fun at an event!"

"We celebrated a surprise birthday for one of our young adult group members and did our usual Rosary walk afterwards and prayed for them."

"The parish hosted an 'Italian Night' to celebrate the two Saints (Sts. Carlo Acutis and Pier Giorgio Frassati) being canonized the next day. Among the 80+ in attendance for the potluck and presentation, we had several young adults and young families attend. It was an awesome evening."

"The independence of the young adults in setting up Adoration each week is inspiring!"
