"We have one young adult preparing for her Confirmation and another young adult is her sponsor. We also had a young adult sponsor a person receiving full initiation in the Church. And yet a fourth young adult is now a sponsor for someone in OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults). We feel the Holy Spirit calling them to share the good news!"
"We welcomed seven people into the Catholic faith at the Easter Vigil - four of whom are young adults in their 20's and 30's."

"Easter season always brings about such peace as we celebrate the risen Christ. I've enjoyed watching our young adults in OCIA this year as they've grown in their faith and what an amazing experience for them as they received their sacraments for the first time. As a convert of sorts myself, it always brings me back to my own baptism and gives me such hope and joy."
"We recently had two young adult men who have been part of our Core Team (leadership team) decide that they would love to serve in OCIA since as we have many young adults joining. They are now going to co-lead much of the preparation for this."
"Getting young adults to commit to coming to an event is a constant struggle. Some work shifts that don't allow them to partake. Some work out of town, and that keeps them from joining. These are both legitimate reasons. But in my opinion, most young adults do not partake because they might find something better to do. Others never came to an event until they finally did, and now they are at a majority of them. I constantly hear the young adults saying that they have nothing to do or they don't know anyone. This is why we exist; to be the community for these young Catholics at a tough time in their life."
"Our parish had a trivia night and the young adult group won first place! The young adult women went to a Christian concert to see Seph Schlueter and connected with Damascus Worship (and stopped at Canes for a good dinner). The young adults celebrated the Holy Thursday tradition of visiting seven churches as a group, and I had the privilege of sponsoring someone for the Easter Vigil for confirmation and baptism!"
"I recently met with a young adult who was coming to the parish to inquire about baptism for her child. She was reluctant to have the conversation about baptism because she herself was not married in the church and had been told by friends that her civil marriage would not only be a problem for the church, but also a problem for having her child baptized. After an awesome conversation, it was amazing to see the stress release from her shoulders and the smile return to her face as she came to recognize she would not be judged in our parish. The invitation would be extended to have her marriage blessed in the Church, and her preparations for the desired baptism would happen as she had hoped. It was a great reminder that sometimes people carry the weight of misconception heavily and as ministry workers, we are called to ease that burden whenever possible."
