Program Outcomes

Students who successfully complete the 18-credit specialization certificate in Scripture will:

  1. Establish broad foundation of knowledge concerning the Old Testament and New Testament canons.

  2. Demonstrate depth of knowledge in one or more focused areas of Scripture studies through the completion of elective coursework.

Requirements

  • At least one Old Testament course (3 credits)

  • At least one New Testament course (3 credits)

  • 12 additional credits of Biblical Studies coursework. Elective course options might include Prophets and Poetry, Old Testament Narrative and Poetry, Old Testament Prophets, Synoptic Gospels and Acts, Gospel of John, Pauline and Johannine Literature, Paul in Early Christianity, Directed Research Project, or other courses as approved by the Director of Graduate Theology Programs.
